There are a lot of things to say, but I don’t have enough time to share everything that has happened this past month. I’ve working at CFS in the wilderness and having tons of fun! The first weekend of July, I went to one of my friend’s houses to see the fireworks for the 4th of July, this is the third year I get to see the celebration and it’s always weird for me because I feel out of place, but I love the food and the atmosphere of the holiday. The only part I don’t get is why people say “Happy 4th of July” as if was a birthday or something. I don’t fully understand it, but to all of you who understand it… Happy 4th of July!
The past month, God has allowed us to be safe in all of our activities in the wilderness. I have been able to do some of the teaching while we are out in the river. We have been talking about Jesus’ parables and to apply them in our daily lives. Sara (my trip partner) was able to share the Gospel with couple of girls and one of them at the end of the week shared with us that she became a Christian during that week.
It is fun to see how easily kids open up when you sit with them for four hours in a canoe. I’ve had lots of conversations, and it is almost unbelievable how much baggage this kids carry in their daily lives. Satan is attacking their lives in so many ways. At the same time, God is working in their lives, and He is still raising a strong generation of Christians who love Him and live for His values.
My summer is almost done, and in a couple weeks I’ll be transitioning into the last two weeks of family camps. I’m not quite sure what I’ll be doing, but as soon as I find out, I’ll let you know. May our LORD bless you!
