A month later....

I would like to apologize for taking so long in order to post something. But, hey I’m here. I’ve been extremely busy with my new life here in Guadalajara, Mexico. God has blessed me so much that I do not have enough words to thank Him for what He has done and what He will do. But please, join me in the next paragraph or two, so you can rejoice with me in what has happened in the last month and a half.

As you know, I spent eleven months at Camp Forest Springs in order to finish my college degree. After the longest winter I’ve experience in my whole life, on April 26, I finished the LTD program along with my friends, that thorough the year became my family. A week after finishing the LTD program, my dad and stepmom traveled to Omaha to graduate from college on May 2nd! Everything went so fast! Couple days after my graduation from Grace University my family and I flew in to Guadalajara, Mexico.

I arrived in a different country… even that is my own country it was shocking for me. As soon as we got off the airplane, we were required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer. I arrived to a hurting Mexico. It was sad, but now thanks to God things are back to normal. The first couple weeks all activities with more than 15 people were cancelled. Our church was closed for two weeks! A cool fact about that issue… we recorded our pastor’s sermon and was transmitted in the local stations and in our web page.

On May the 5th a.k.a. cinco de mayo! I started working at my church. It was funny that on my first day of work we had a “Staff meeting” and guess what?? It takes forever here too!! On Friday, we have prayer meeting at 8:00 am. So, for all my friends at CFS… it feels like home? Our Lord is good. I love my job, which I’m having a hard time knowing what is my role at my church. I don’t have a ministry description or any other policies to follow. I know that I’m here to serve and I love it!

Some of my responsibilities involve spending time with students on and off campuses, two times a week I host a Bible study in two different colleges (there are 2 because some of them are in a summer break), I working also with the High-school youth group and with the college students as well. I take part in our worship team and also I’m helping with the praise band at English Fellowship of Guadalajara, a ministry that my church has to reach the American people that live in our city. The other face of my ministry here at Rey de Reyes, is the adventure ministry and summer camps. I love been outside, but not so much when is 100°F! I took a small group out couple weeks ago to backpack and rappel. It was awesome!

As you can read, I’m a bit busy. I would love to spend more time to tell you all what I’ve been doing, but I don’t have that much time. I have put some pictures so you can put the images to my words. Thank you all for your support, your prayers, and your friendship. I love you, and I miss you tons!
